E-Commerce Sales Assistant
E-Commerce Sales Assistant (Part-Time, On-Site)
Calico Guitarworks Inc. – Nesconset, NY
Calico Guitarworks Inc. is looking for a part-time E-Commerce Sales Assistant to join our team in Nesconset. This role is a great fit for musicians, guitar enthusiasts, or students interested in gaining hands-on experience in the music retail and e-commerce space.
If you’re passionate about guitars, enjoy working with gear, and like staying organized in a fast-moving environment, we’d love to hear from you.
This position offers a flexible schedule, ideally 4–5 days per week, with shifts of 3–5 hours. The total expected time commitment is approximately 15–20 hours per week.
Starting Pay: $18/hour
What You’ll Do
- Process online orders and returns across multiple e-commerce platforms
- Receive shipments and keep inventory organized and accessible
- Help maintain a clean, efficient, and well-run shop environment
- Respond to customer inquiries via email and platform messaging
- Assist with product listings, photography, and social media content
What We’re Looking For
- A genuine interest in guitars and music gear
- Familiarity with platforms like Shopify, Reverb, eBay, Instagram, and Facebook
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Friendly, reliable, and professional in communication
- Basic photo/video editing skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a step stool and comfortably crouch and reach overhead as needed
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Guitar Technician
Calico Guitarworks Inc. is interested in hiring an experienced Guitar Technician for part-time work on premises. This is a paid position, not an apprenticeship.
The schedule may be a flexible 2-3 days per week, with the opportunity for further hours once familiar with the shop’s standards and protocols.
Compensation will be based on the applicants experience level.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Guitar setup and repair work in fitting with the applicant’s abilities. (Proficiency in skills such as fretwork, nut/saddle making, basic electronics, etc. are required)
- Occasional assistance with essential shop tasks, including but not limited to: customer service, shipping and receiving, general cleaning, managing of social media and online marketplace content.
Job Requirements:
- Luthierie school or equivalent prior experience with fretted instrument setup/repair
- Familiarity in working with hand and power tools
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to monitor multiple tasks at the same time
- Must have drivers license and transportation.
